    　　The Beckley Area Foundation has awarded a grant as new equipment worth $3,950 to the Beckley Police Department.

            The funds were wont to purchase a new commercial elliptical machine as well as a commercial treadmill for the employees of the Beckley Police Department. Lt. Charles Ragland said the donation will help the department tremendously. "It's real nice that we have in house training now," enounced Ragland. "We don't have to go other places to the gyms, we may actually do it here and get the same benefits from it."

    　　Officers said the additional equipment gives brought extensive improvements to the police gym.
